CompacTropha®
CompacTropha®
The mobile container press unit CompacTropha® can process a total of 400 kilograms of jatropha seeds per hour, using two integrated presses, and generate power directly on site in a second step. The hourly yield of 140 litres of raw oil can produce up to 400 kilowatts of electricity – this is enough to supply an African village, including public institutions such as a school or hospital, with electricity for 24 hours.
While oil production used to rely exclusively on the export of seeds, nowadays the oil can be extracted locally. Electricity is produced in a second container using a generator. This new process is made possible by the direct combination of two mobile screw presses with a generator to form a self-sufficient unit. CompacTropha® provides a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution, particularly in rural areas of tropical developing or emerging countries, where jatropha is grown and harvested.
