Insect proteins in test for Atlantic salmon

A team of Norwegian and Italian researchers has investigated the effects of insect meal and oil extracted from BSF larvae on the growth performance, body composition and nutrient digestibility of Atlantic salmon. The result is that the positive test results obtained with the Black Soldier Fly so far are confirmed: Insect proteins are ideal for use in fish feed.
